DISTRICT READING FAIR - NOVEMBER 9TH
What is AR? AR stand for Accelerated Reader. It is a program designed to encourage your child to read.
When can my child take a test? AR test can only be taken at school.
Does my child have to answer every question correctly to get points? To get the full amount of points available for that book, all answers must be correct. Partial credit will be awarded for answering most of the questions correctly, though.
Time Line for when point end for each nine weeks:
1st nine weeks - October 12th
2nd nine weeks - December 21st
3rd nine weeks - March 20th
4th nine weeks - May 3rd
What happens if my child meets his/her goal? There will be a different reward for each of the first three semesters. The AR store will be open once every nine weeks. Student will also be rewarded at the end of the year for meeting their goal throughout the year with the field trip!
How can I find out how many points my child has? Log in to home connect using your child's username and password . Home connect allows you to see which books your child has tested on, their scores and their progress toward their AR goal!
Goals Are Listed below:
3rd grade: 15 pts, 4th grade 20 pts, 5th grade 25 pts each nine weeks
ALL STUDENTS MUST MAINTAIN AN 85% AVERAGE ON ALL "AR QUIZZES" TAKEN IN ORDER TO ATTEND PARTIES
Red Ribbon Week ~ October 29th through November 2nd
Student May dress as follows, but must be appropriate length for bottoms (NO MORE THAN 4 INCHES above the knee see handbook for policy)
Monday - October 29th - A Drug Free Life Rocks (Rock Star Attire)
Tuesday - October 30th - Too Smart To Start (Nerd Attire)
Wednesday - October 31st - My Future is Drug Free (Collage shirt or Career apparel)
Thursday - November 1st - Sock it to Drugs - (50's sock hop attire)
Friday - November 2nd - No Drugs or Bullying In My House - (wear PBIS house shirt)
November 19 - 23rd ~ Happy Thanksgiving from PUE
